MSM is a naturally occurring odourless source of bio-available sulpher for horses and other animals to supplement diets where levels may be low.

Research shows, horses in work have increased tissue break down, therefore an adequate daily requirement of dietary sulphur is essential for rebuilding these tissues. MSM provides an excellent source of sulphur in a readily available oral form.

 

Daily Amount 4-8mg/kg bodyweight, equivalent to 2-4g per day oer 450kg bodyweight, in the feed. Higher doses may be required where diets are severely deficient or the animal is in heavy work. Sulphur is an essential element in horse's hooves, skin, hair and connective tissues. It also occurs in certain enzymes, hormones and immunoglobulins (antibodies). The drying and processing of horse feeds considerably reduces or completely destroys MSM, a natural source of sulphur to the horse.
